Jefferson County Release Records
A Jefferson County release is the end of one custody event, not always the end of all custody. The Jefferson County Jail may return someone to the community after bond, a court order, dismissal, time served, or completion of a local sentence. It may also transfer that person to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, another county, a federal custodian, or immigration custody. A transfer removes the name from the local jail roster but does not put the person back in the community.
The sheriff's booking and release entry is the direct local record. A court docket can show the order behind the change. ODOC holds the lasting state record when a sentence or supervision moves into its system. Federal and immigration agencies keep separate records. Each source proves a different fact, so a sound Jefferson County released inmate lookup follows the disposition from one custodian to the next.
- Release
- The end of custody under a particular booking or agency record.
- Transfer
- A move to another custodian, not a community release.
- Parole
- Physical release from prison while the sentence continues under conditions.
- Probation
- Court-ordered community supervision that may occur without a prison release.
- Discharge
- The recorded end of ODOC incarceration or supervision, as shown by the state file.
Jefferson County Release Outcomes
The word released can hide the next destination. Jefferson County Jail staff may use an exact disposition code, and that code should be requested with its field legend. A person can leave on one case yet remain held on another warrant or detainer. The release time and destination therefore matter as much as the fact that a roster entry ended.
| Outcome | What it means | Next source |
|---|---|---|
| Bond or conditional release | Community release after required terms are met | Jail release entry and court docket |
| Dismissal or court order | Legal authority to end that custody hold | Court order plus actual jail processing time |
| Time served or sentence complete | A local sentence has ended | Jail register and court file |
| Probation | Community supervision ordered by the court | Court and ODOC supervision records |
| ODOC transfer | State custody begins or continues elsewhere | ODOC Offender Lookup and records office |
| Federal or ICE transfer | Another government custodian receives the person | BOP, USMS, or ICE system |
A death or escape can also end display on a current roster, but neither is a normal community release. Ask for the agency's own wording. Do not translate every closed booking into “released home.”
Jefferson County Release Record Fields
A useful request identifies one booking and asks how it ended. Names can repeat, and one person can have more than one Jefferson County booking. Include the full legal name, aliases, approximate booking date, date of birth if known, and case or booking number. The resulting field set should connect the admission with the final disposition.
| Field | What it establishes |
|---|---|
| Name and identifier | Which person the record concerns |
| Booking number and time | The exact Jefferson County custody event |
| Arresting agency | Who may hold the arrest report |
| Charges and case number | The court matter tied to the hold |
| Release date and time | When county custody under that booking ended |
| Reason or disposition | Bond, order, time served, transfer, or another ending |
| Destination agency | Whether another custodian received the person |
| Booking photograph | The image tied to that county booking, if released |
A bond receipt or court order can show authority for release. It does not prove when jail processing finished. Likewise, a jail timestamp proves the custody event ended but may not explain the legal ruling. Pair both records when the distinction matters.
Request Jefferson County Release Records
No verified Jefferson County online release archive or request form was found. The practical route is the Jefferson County Sheriff and Jail at 218 North Main Street, Waurika, Oklahoma 73573, telephone 580-228-2375. Call for current delivery instructions and records hours before sending the request. Ask for an existing record rather than demanding that staff create a custom report.
- Identify the person with a full name, aliases, date of birth if known, and a narrow booking date range.
- Ask for the jail-register entry, booking sheet, release or discharge record, and the booking photograph tied to that event.
- Specify the admission and release timestamps, disposition code, destination, booking number, charges, and case number.
- Request electronic copies, a code legend, and a fee estimate before work begins.
- If a field is not kept, ask which existing record series contains the date or manner of discharge.
The Oklahoma Open Records Act requires prompt, reasonable access during regular business hours, but it sets no universal three-day response rule. State law generally limits copying charges to reasonable direct reproduction cost, ordinarily up to $0.25 per page and $1 per certified page. Jefferson County did not publish a verified local schedule in the research, so obtain an estimate. An agency may withhold or redact juvenile, sealed, medical, active-investigation, or other protected material.
Ask for the date, time, disposition, and destination. A missing roster name cannot supply any of those facts.
Oklahoma Law on Release Records
The Oklahoma Open Records Act, 51 O.S. §§ 24A.1 and following, favors access while preserving specific limits. Section 24A.8 addresses law-enforcement and jail-register information, including the date or manner of discharge or escape if the record is kept. Section 24A.18 says an office need not create a new record. That point matters when requesting a daily release log or a three-day extract that may not exist.
Website display and agency retention are separate. Jefferson County has no verified published online retention window. An entry can disappear from a live page yet remain available from the custodian. For an old booking, ask whether the jail register survives and which retention schedule governs it.
Jefferson Court and Release Proof
Jefferson County is an OSCN county with code JF. The Oklahoma State Courts Network docket search can reveal bond, dismissal, judgment and sentence, revocation, warrants, and later orders. On Demand Court Records is a second interface, but the Jefferson County Court Clerk remains the official keeper. Certified or missing documents route to 220 North Main Street in Waurika, telephone 580-228-2180.
The court and sheriff answer different questions. A judge's order explains why release was authorized. The sheriff's entry records when physical processing ended and whether another hold changed the outcome. Use the case number from the docket to make the jail request precise. A sealed or expunged case may later disappear from public search even though the historical custody event occurred.
The manifest's ODCR source page shows the alternate Oklahoma court-search route.
That search can preserve the legal trail after a short-lived custody listing is gone, but actual release still requires the custodian's record.
Jefferson State Discharge Records
A discharged state record may not stay easy to find in public Offender Lookup. ODOC provides a direct discharge route through Legal Services and Offender Records. Closed Records can be reached at 405-425-2691, while discharge-only questions may be sent to osordischarges@doc.ok.gov. An authorization form may be required for protected incarceration or supervision material.
This local path matters when a Jefferson County judgment led to state custody, parole, or probation. Ask for the incarceration and supervision history, discharge date and status, or correction of a mistaken entry. The sheriff cannot settle an ODOC discharge question merely because the original prosecution began in Jefferson County.
Public Offender Lookup is an abbreviated state record, so an unclear status should lead to the records office rather than a guess. Include the person's full name, ODOC number, Jefferson County case information, and the precise event that needs confirmation. When the subject authorizes access to protected incarceration or supervision material, use ODOC's authorization process. A closed state file and a county jail release entry describe different custody systems and may both be needed.
Find Jefferson County Released Inmates
Start with identity and a timeline. Record name variants, approximate age, arrest date, arresting agency, case number, and whether the matter appears local, state, federal, or immigration-related. Jefferson County has a severe name collision with counties in several other states. Confirm Waurika, Oklahoma, the 580 area code, and the operating agency before relying on a result.
- Call Jefferson County Jail about the specific historical booking. Ask for time, reason, and destination.
- Search OSCN and ODCR for the court order or sentence tied to that booking.
- If the case entered state custody or supervision, search ODOC by name and ODOC number.
- Check OK VINE for a person-specific agency event and use it as corroboration.
- Use Pardon and Parole Board records when parole consideration is involved.
- Follow a federal or ICE destination into the correct federal system.
- Submit a written release-record request when online results remain incomplete.
There is no verified official Jefferson County feed for people released in the last 24 hours. The page for recent releases therefore leads with the jail and records-request fallback, not an invented list.
Jefferson ODOC Release Search
The Oklahoma Department of Corrections Offender Lookup covers people sentenced to state custody or appearing in state supervision. It is not a list of every Jefferson County jail release. Search the exact name and variants, then use an ODOC number when available. Compare enough fields to rule out a same-name match.
| Search or result field | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Name and aliases | Try legal and recorded variants |
| ODOC number | Use the strongest state identifier |
| Photo and age data | Compare identity carefully |
| County, case, offense | Connect the record to Jefferson County court |
| Reception and sentence entries | Follow movement into state custody |
| Facility or supervision status | Distinguish prison, parole, probation, and inactive status |
| Release or discharge fields | Read the live labels and full history together |
ODOC says an actual inmate release date is tentative and generally confidential without a legitimate need. Credits, misconduct, and programs can change the calculation. The Jefferson County inmate release date page explains that limit and the difference between a projected date and an implemented release.
The manifest's ODOC search source displays the official statewide entry point.
The screen belongs to the state system, so a county-only arrest may never appear there.
Jefferson Release Supervision Records
Parole and probation are not the same. Parole follows physical release from prison while the confinement term continues under conditions. Probation can result from a suspended or deferred sentence and may occur without prison. The Jefferson County parole and probation route begins with ODOC records and the Duncan Probation and Parole Office, which serves Jefferson and Stephens Counties.
The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board publishes dockets, meeting records, and results. A docket entry, vote, or recommendation is not the release timestamp. ODOC implements the custody change after all required action. For an alleged absconder or warrant, use the ODOC fugitive channel and do not approach the person.
Jefferson Release Alerts and Federal Records
OK VINE through VINELink supports person-specific custody checks and notifications from participating Oklahoma agencies. Choose Oklahoma, match the identity and reporting agency, and read the exact event. Transfer is not community release. VINE is not a permanent release ledger, and it does not replace the BOP or ICE systems.
The BOP Inmate Locator covers current and former federal prisoners from 1982 forward. A past release date and “Released” or no-location status can confirm that BOP custody ended. A federal pretrial prisoner may instead remain under the U.S. Marshals Service at a contract facility and lack a BOP result.
The manifest's BOP locator source shows the federal search and former-prisoner result fields.
That federal result cannot confirm a Jefferson County Jail or ODOC release.
Jefferson Release to ICE
A Jefferson County disposition that says released to ICE records a transfer into another custody system. It does not prove return to the community. The ICE Online Detainee Locator supports an A-number plus country of birth, or an exact name search with country of birth and optional birth date. ICE states that the locator can include people released from ICE custody within the prior 60 days, subject to its limits.
The county destination field is critical because it tells the searcher which system to check. A no-result in ICE may reflect spelling, recent intake, transfer, privacy rules, or the record window. The ICE Detention Reporting and Information Line, 1-888-351-4024, is available weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern.
Jefferson Released or In Custody
The correct record depends on both the custodian and the stage of the case. A live jail roster, if one existed, would answer who is displayed now. Jefferson County's release entry answers how a past booking ended. State and federal systems cover only their own custody.
| Question | Best source | Main limit |
|---|---|---|
| Is the person currently at the county jail? | Jefferson County Jail by phone | No verified official online roster |
| How did the county booking end? | Jail register and release record | Must identify the booking |
| Did the court authorize release? | OSCN and Court Clerk | Order time is not jail exit time |
| Did state custody or supervision follow? | ODOC lookup and records | Not every county arrestee enters ODOC |
| Did federal prison custody end? | BOP Inmate Locator | Does not cover county, ODOC, or all pretrial custody |
| Was there an ICE transfer? | County destination plus ICE locator | No result is not proof of release |
Note: A person can be physically out of prison yet still under parole or probation, so release and discharge should not be treated as synonyms.
Waurika Historical Release Records
Older official material identifies a Waurika Community Work Center connected to Lawton Community Corrections Center. ODOC's current list of five community corrections centers does not include Waurika. Current searches should not rely on stale directories or treat the former site as an operating release point.
A former resident's lasting incarceration, supervision, or discharge file belongs with ODOC. This distinction prevents a family from visiting an old facility result while the record is held by the statewide agency. The historical facility page preserves that local context without presenting the work center as open.
Jefferson County Release Facilities
The facility map includes physical custodians, a supervision office, a historical site, and system-level federal routes. Each page identifies what the named place or system can actually prove.
- Jefferson County Jail holds the controlling local booking and release record.
- Waurika Police Department / municipal holding may hold an arrest report while the county jail holds booking and release.
- Duncan Probation and Parole Office routes Jefferson County community supervision.
- Waurika Community Work Center (historical) is an older ODOC site, not a verified current release point.
- Oklahoma Department of Corrections institutions and placements hold state incarceration and discharge records.
- Federal Bureau of Prisons facilities nationwide cover federal prisoners, with no county institution identified.
- ICE detention network / ERO is the route after a documented immigration transfer.
Use the record from the agency that had custody. Then reconcile it with the court order, receiving agency, or supervision record that follows.
