OK VINE Jefferson County Coverage
The Oklahoma Attorney General's OK VINE program is a free, confidential service for custody information and notification. A status check can be anonymous. Access is available through VINELink, a mobile application, or Oklahoma's toll-free line at 1-877-654-8463. The service operates at all hours, which makes it useful when a custodian's records office is closed.
Coverage needs careful wording. Oklahoma runs a statewide VINE program, but the public state page does not publish a guaranteed facility-by-facility feed list. Participating local jails and correctional agencies provide their records. Confirm Jefferson County participation in the live platform by choosing Oklahoma and searching for the person or agency. A missing result may reflect spelling, coverage, a recent exchange delay, a transfer, or archive behavior.
OK VINE is not a permanent release archive. It also is not the BOP or ICE locator. Use it for a specific agency-fed event, then compare that event with the Jefferson County Jail release record, an ODOC record, or the receiving agency's record.
The participating agency controls the source data, not VINE. That is why the agency label matters as much as the person's name. - Compare the identifiers and contributing agency on each possible match. Never select a record by name alone.
- Open the best match and read the exact custody status, location when shown, and most recent event.
- Distinguish a release event from a transfer. A transfer means the custodian changed, not that custody ended.
- Corroborate the result with the jail disposition, court record, ODOC record, or receiving agency.

The screen supports the state-first, specific-person workflow. Its controls can change, so follow the current labels rather than relying on a saved screenshot as proof of present status.
If several matches remain, stop before registering. Compare the contributing agency and any safe identifying details, then obtain the booking number from the jail or case number from the court. An alert attached to the wrong record will not answer the Jefferson County release question.
Jefferson County VINE Release Fields
A matching record should be read field by field. VINELink reports information supplied by the participating agency, and not every record exposes the same details. The research inventory identifies the following fields and cautions as the useful core.

An explicit released or no-longer-in-custody result is useful agency-fed evidence. It is not a complete historical release certificate. The Jefferson County jail entry supplies the direct release timestamp and disposition for a local booking. A transfer event calls for a second search in the receiving system.
Note: Read the event label literally; “transfer” confirms a new custodian, not a return to the community.
Register Jefferson County Release Alerts

- Save the registration confirmation and repeat the process for another offered method if appropriate.
VINE can notify about transfer, escape, apprehension, release, or death. The message should identify the event. Do not turn a general custody change into a release claim. When a notice is urgent or unclear, contact the agency that contributed the record.
Keep the PIN private but accessible to the person receiving automated calls. Entering it acknowledges the notice and helps stop repeat calls. Email verification works differently, so check the inbox and spam folder for the platform's confirmation. If a phone number or email address changes, update the registration through the current VINELink controls.
Waurika Arrests and OK VINE
Waurika's municipal custody path adds a local layer to the search. Official city minutes document that Waurika contracted with Jefferson County to house city prisoners at the county jail. As a result, a Waurika police arrest may lead to a county jail booking and county-fed VINE or release record rather than a separate city release list.
If no match appears, ask which custodian received the person. Waurika police may hold the arrest report, while the Jefferson County Jail may hold the admission and release entry. The city contact is 122 South Main Street, Waurika, 580-228-2713. The county jail is at 218 North Main Street, Waurika, 580-228-2375. Confirm current instructions before requesting records.
This split matters when the arresting agency and holding agency differ. Search the custody provider in VINELink, then use the arrest agency only for the police report or routing question.
A person released by police before a county booking may never produce a Jefferson County jail entry. Conversely, a person delivered to the county jail may appear under the county custodian even though Waurika police made the arrest. The arrest report and custody event should be requested from the office that made each record.
Jefferson County Parole Notice Layer
OK VINE custody alerts and Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board notices are separate layers. A VINE registration does not automatically enroll someone for Board hearing information. The Board's notification channel is the better route for parole-hearing and release-to-parole notices where applicable, while ODOC Victim Services handles state-prison release concerns.
The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board explains that a hearing does not itself mean immediate release. A docket appearance, vote, recommendation, executive action where required, and ODOC implementation are separate milestones. Parole means physical release from prison while the sentence continues under conditions. Discharge is the broader end of ODOC custody or supervision shown by the actual record. A VINE event should be read alongside those state terms.

Jefferson County VINELink Release Limits
Data timing depends on the agency that contributes the event. A release may be processed by the custodian before it appears in VINE. A past event may no longer be easy to find. Absence from the platform therefore does not prove present custody, community release, or that no booking occurred.

For an older local event, submit a focused Oklahoma Open Records Act request for the jail-register entry and release disposition. Federal Releases Beyond OK VINE
VINELink does not replace federal custody systems. A Jefferson County disposition that names federal transfer should lead to the Federal Bureau of Prisons or the U.S. Marshals Service route. The BOP Inmate Locator can show former federal prisoners and a release date, but a federal pretrial detainee may still be held by a contract jail under USMS authority.
An ICE transfer also requires a separate search. ICE's locator uses an A-number with country of birth or biographical name and country-of-birth fields.
